Our dealership is in its 90th year and is the fourth generation of ownership within the same family.  Our great-grandfather, William Newt Parks, Sr., started a dealership in New Albany, Mississippi in 1919.  This dealership first began as a Studebaker franchise store.  In about 1921 or 1922, Poppa Newt, as we called him, was awarded the Chevrolet franchise in our community.  My grandfather, William Newt Parks Jr., joined him at the dealership after finishing school, as did his brother Joe C.Parks Sr.  This dealership was one of the few in our part of the country to survive the Great Depression of 1929 and the 1930s.  In the 1950s our father, William Alvis Parks Sr. and his first cousin, Joe C. Parks Jr. finished their college degrees and service in the military and joined the business as well.  By this time, Poppa Newt had passed away and was no longer involved actively in the dealership.  In the 1970s, both our grandfather, Daddy Bill, and our his brother Joe passed away.  In 1979, I, Bill Parks, graduated from college and returned to New Albany to join the family business.  In 1986, Robert Parks, my brother came to work full-time at our dealership.  In 1984, our cousin, Joe Parks Jr. retired  from the store.  In 1998, our brother-in-law, Mark Nail came to work for the company. In 2001, our father passed away.

Presently, Robert, Mark, and I are full-time manager owners of the dealership and in May of 2008, we became the Buick, Pontiac, and GMC Dealer in addition to our Chevrolet franchise.  Our heritage, as you can see is important to who are, what we are about, where we have come from, and where we are going.  Service is of utmost importance to us all since we all came into the business working first in the service department of our company.  Today, Mark is the Service Operations Manager full-time, which reflects the value of keeping our present and past customers happy and continuing as our customers for the future.

We are a family-owned small town store that wants to give each and every customer personal attention and a positive experience.  Our satisfied customers are, and always have been, our best advertising.  Their word of mouth goodwill endorsement is worth much much more that any advertising dollars that we could possibly spend.  Come by and see us in person and let us show you why we are  “EASY TO FIND, HARD TO BEAT!”

We are located on U. S. Highway 78 in New Albany at the Carter Avenue intersection – Exit 63.
