While we hear a lot of gloom and doom right now, and understandably so, what we don’t always hear are the small bits of hope—the little stats and numbers that show small progressions in the direction that we are all trying to go towards. While numbers for March vehicle sales still proved to be low, the increase from February to March gives some hope that the consumer is still looking for quality as well as a bargain in these economic times.

Automakers sold 857,735 light vehicles last month. MSN posted an article yesterday on the numbers and this glimmer of hope.

“Despite the declines from a year ago, GM, Ford, Chrysler and Toyota all posted double-digit improvements from February, when industrywide U.S. sales hit their lowest point in more than 27 years.”-(Associated Press)

GM sold 155,334 light vehicles, while Toyota sold 132,802. Ford had 131,102, and Chrysler had 101,001.

“One bright spot was the Malibu, GM’s top-selling sedan. Its sales fell just 2 percent from a year ago to 14,772 units.” (AP) Click here to read more from MSN’s article…

So, while these numbers aren’t screaming as loudly as everything else you are hearing, know that we should be hopeful in the midst of it all; continue looking forward while wishing the American automotive business success in its restructuring and getting back on its feet.

Parks GM, formally known as Parks Chevrolet, is located in New Albany, MS and is a family-owned small town store that has been serving since 1919.
