I’m been excited about GM’s new marketing strategies in the wake of all of the year’s events, and I’m particularly excited to see Howie Long as the new spokesperson for Chevrolet. I think he’s the perfect fit for the brand, and I enjoy seeing how Chevrolet is showing their worth by showing stats, numbers, and details that you need to know before you purchase a vehicle. Chevy is showing a fresh perspective and constantly staying in front of you with the facts. See the videos below for examples.
The first is one showing how we compare to Honda. You’ll be surprised.
The second, highlighting the spacious Chevy Traverse while showing why it’s good for the little people in your family.
Stay tuned for more. And, may the best car win.

You’ve probably seen all of the commercials lately for GM’s campaign, “May the Best Car Win.” I’m excited, because there are so many commercials, ads, and other media that are letting the consumer choose for themselves. Chevrolet continues to prove that its cars are the most fuel efficient and can be compared to anyone. With the new 60-day guarantee, if you don’t love it, you can return it. GM wants to show you that the quality of your new car is unmatched, and it asks you to put them up against anyone. Test drive a new car today, and may the best car win.

“They say that the other leading automotive company is the best. They say Toyota has the most fuel-efficient cars on the road.” Be careful of “they say,” people. I’m urging you to check your facts—not for me, but for yourself. We are a people that rely on word-of-mouth, which is sometimes a great thing. In fact, word-of-mouth advertising can be the best and certainly most trusted. However, we should push to be a people that researches, evaluates, and looks beyond the “they say”s. Watch for yourself, and don’t be afraid to dig a little. It might just benefit you in the end. See why, in this case, “they say” was wrong.

Two years ago, GM launched Chevrolet Equinox fuel cell electric vehicle deployments for Project Driveway at the Society of Environmental Journalists event in Palo Alto, California. The premise was that vehicles would be distributed in various locations around the country to people just like you to test out Equinox fuel cell Evs in their everyday driving routines and “without consuming a drop of petroleum or emitting anything from the tailpipe except pure water vapor,” Mark Vann, Chevrolet Fuel Cell Vehicle Deployment Manager declared. During the week of September 6, the program passed 1 million miles.
We’ve learned a great deal from having the vehicles in varied usage and climates, from the heat of the San Fernando Valley in LA to the bitter cold winter of West Point, NY. We’ve used these experiences to extend fuel cell stack life and improve the regenerative braking system, which benefited our 2-mode hybrid vehicles since it’s the same brake system used on the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon 2-mode hybrids. Plus, we’ve applied what we’ve learned about fuel cell thermal design to the Volt battery design.
It was Chevrolet’s desire to test the vehicles out with real people—people with real, everyday schedules that are unpredictable and often hectic. This gave them more relevant feedback and got people involved outside of the test centers. Click here for more from GM’s own blog, GM FastLane.

For any of you that haven’t seen or driven a New 2010 Camaro yet, your time invested will be well spent. Those who see this new product recognize them immediately as what they are without anyone telling them. The first two that we have sold were driven by me to fuel up prior to delivery. Everyone that sees these vehicles knows that they are looking at the new Camaro, and you can see by their facial expressions and body language that they like and are impressed with what they see. Many of the folks at the gas station have come up and told me so. These cars have beautiful styling that is very similar in appearance to the original, but current and stylish for the present.
All of these considerations make it a hit with the old and young alike. It is an excellent value and the V-6 is a great performing engine that gets 32 MPG! Appointed with the RS package, it is an exceptional looking, sporty, and efficient set of wheels. See or contact us at your first opportunity for further information, pricing, availability, or any other questions that you may have. We want to serve you!

This new commercial for GM is absolutely on target. Not only is GM staying authentic, transparent, and honest with the American public, but they are also promising a new beginning— a strong commitment. “We aren’t witnessing the end of the American car, we are witnessing the rebirth of the American car.” Watch this commercial, and know that GM is coming back stronger than ever.

According to data taken from the Associated Press compiled on June 2, 2009, we see revealed some real surprises. Sales for May 2009 versus sales for April 2009, for U.S. registrations only, rose by 13%. Even amongst all the gloom and doom preached on the air waves for the American Big Three, and particularly GM and Chrysler in their bankruptcy situations, domestics faired well against the media darling imports. GM sales were up 11% for the April to May period. Industry wide, sales for all brands were down significantly from last year. Look closely at the results below:
Sales reductions for May 2009 vs. May 2008
Ford 24%
GM 30%
Nissan 33%
Toyota 41%
Honda 41%
Chrysler 47%
The facts speak for themselves here; the economy has hit all of the entire automotive industry hard—not just one or two companies. A better economy is necessary for us as businesses to all do well, and during tough times we all suffer together. It is not an import or domestic only problem but a poor economy precipitant.
Let’s all strive together to get our nation back on track. We must support each other. No one else is going to do it for us.God Bless America.

About a two years ago, we had a customer communicate a story of something that had personally happened to him in his use of OnStar. This customer was taking delivery of a new Avanlanche equipped with OnStar. He was trading us a used Avalanche. He and his wife were recently retired and were taking a long awaited trip to Alaska. They chose to drive so that they could spend as much time as desired at the various stops and sites. This trip was a driving trip made in their previous Chevrolet Avalanche. He had bought this particular vehicle used, and the OnStar subscription was expired. They did not renew the subscription after the purchase, so they began their trip without it.
Many of you know from personal experience that the roads in Alaska are rough, rough, and rough—lots of sharp rocks, little or no pavement, and perilous to drive. They arrived safely and successfully in Alaska; the truck was in tact without bending anything. After getting there, they visited the normal sites of Nome, Juneau, and other communities, as well as Denali National Park. While driving in Denali, they realized just how near they were to the Arctic Circle and decided to drive up to inside of the Circle Area so as to say that they had been there. While on their journey, the road got narrower and rougher in its surface with many more jagged rocks on the roadbed for the tires to have to contend with. As you might have expected, they soon had their first flat tire of the trip. Aftering changing the tire, they continued on their way and encountered a road crew doing work on the roadway. Since they were in a very remote part of the state, these guys were glad to see a couple of new faces. Being very friendly, outgoing, and talkative, these guys quickly struck up a conversation with their impromtu guests. One of the first questions from the road crew to the travelers was, “How many spare tires do you have?”
The immediate response was that they had only one but had already encountered trouble, and it was now on the ground. The road workmen responded with advice that nearly everyone in that part of the world knew that there were absolutely no service stations or tire service stores for literally hundreds of miles and for that reason, most all drivers carried at least three or four spares at all times. The crew also volunteered with the equipment that they had with them to repair the used flat so that a new spare would be available when it was needed. The travelers readily and happily agreed to get the repair done and were proud to pay the guys for their materials and time.
Some 15 miles or so up the road, a second flat was encountered and the recent repair was now put on the ground. This left our travelers with, yet again, no useable spare. A thought then occurred to the husband doing the driving.
He remembered that he had heard numerous stories about the merits of Onstar and wondered if he would be able to contact them from his far north location— even though he had no current subscription. He figured he could at least give it a try, so he pressed the blue Onstar button. Immediately, a polite voice came into his vehicle’s speakers. “This is OnStar. May we help you?”
Relieved, he responded affirmitively. He then asked if he could enroll his used vehicle with a credit card for immediate contracting and coverage with OnStar and he was told that he could enroll with no problem. His next question was if the coverage was immediate and if it covered roadside problems anywhere in North America. This question was met with an affirmative answer as well. He then gave the folks at OnStar his credit card information and was told that he was now fully covered and to call back if he had any problems or additional questions. But before ending the call, OnStar told him that they had one question of their own. Their inquiry was the exact location of his vehicle at that particular moment. He responded with Alaska, and the travelers then inquired what OnStar showed as their location. OnStar said that their GPS showed the Avalanche vehicle was only 20 miles from the Arctic Circle. The travelers confirmed that information to be correct.
OnStar then revealed some interesting news— the maps and GPS showed where they were traveling did not even show a trail, much less a road!
They were still able to reach OnStar and get coverage that lent great peace of mind for the balance of their trip. These folks knew that had they encountered additional troubles, help was within reach of what they could not do by cell phone or any other means.
Peace of mind is Priceless!
You may or may not know that nearly every new model of Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac, and GMC that we offer for sale now comes standard with OnStar for the first year at absolutely no extra cost to the customer. Many of our program used vehicles have this service available as well. GM is the only manufactuer in the world that can make this claim of its vehicles. Whether you need a door unlocked, require roadside assistance, need to report a medical emergency, or if you have a collision, OnStar is there 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to help you better.
We care about our customers, both at this dealership and at the manufactuer as well. Please visit with us in person if you have the chance; it would be our pleasure to get to know you better.
